Ever embarking anew: reflecting on another year gone by

An old fieldwork photo taken from camp

In the spirit of Occupy Language (and present-continuous revolt) I have decided to pay no mind the Gregorian calendar and associated cultural chronotopes. I am, however, going to drink champagne and celebrate the fact that today has been another beautiful day in the rolling season of Wolma – the season of big clouds that bring the first of the rains to Arnhem Land.

And if anyone asks, I live in Australasia.

Happy new year!
