Hear ye, hear ye: Protesters shut down Macklin media event – ABC News

Jenny Macklin was visiting the Morris Soak town camp in Alice Springs to mark the start of postal services to houses there.

But the event was overshadowed by a group of protesters who joined a press conference being held by the minister.

They were angry about the Northern Territory intervention and called for income management to be scrapped.

MLA Malarndirri McCarthy says Aboriginal people need to feel empowered to make their own decisions.’
