My thesis in surely in the birthing position

Arriving back in camp after a day out hunting

From camp life and every day relations to policy making and the law, understandings about the nature of persons, morality and value determine who is considered normal and what type of life is acceptable, whose actions are blameworthy and whose are unremarkable, who is moral and who is deviant, what constitutes order and what looks like chaos.

This thesis is an effort toward outlining something of the local theory of morality and value on the Yolηu homelands in remote northeast Arnhem Land. The chapters in this thesis are organised into three general ‘parts’ with a view toward this general aim.”
