Wireless radio and quietude: a passing thought

I sat in front of the fireplace this evening with my two house-mates listening to the radio.

This isn’t uncommon, but this evening there was a radio-play on the wireless, so we all sat around for an extended period listening.

The wireless affords a special kind of quietude. Even reading quietly in a room together is not ‘quietude’ in the same, shared way.

That’s all.
